And maybe because CB is where the action is?

And I bet Leland (and DouGay) don't think twice about using HF even
without the proper license!

For it's correct purpose - yakking away the hours on.
CB and Amateur are different services for different purposes. The failure
to see that is causing Governments to try to make them more alike,
gradually turning Amateur into a CB service.

If people just want to yak, they want CB... if they want to get technical,
then they want Amateur. There is no reason why people should not
have both (as many do), if they have a proper use for each.

Happy new year.

Peter.

Why waste my money on a CB, or one of those
"export rigs", when for a few hundred more bucks I
can have it all? 160m, 80/75m, 60m (with mod),
40m, 30m, 20m, 17m, 15m, 12m, 10m, 6m, 2m, and
70cm. Rig has crystal filters, built in DSP, noise
blanker, AM, FM (normal and narrow), USB, LSB,
digital modulation ability, auto control of
external antenna tuner etc. All in a box about the
size of your typical CB. Oh, and the power output
too, 100 watts sideband and FM up to 6m, 50 watts
sideband and on 2m, and 20 watts sideband and FM
on 70cm. And there is more.
