Default Steveo lawn question

Yes I know you have a degree in
grass science so answer me this, why
does a lawn get yelow patches in it
I know its winter but this spring I will
see dead spots in the lawn like last
year. It is not because of not watering or
uneven watering and no theres nothing
blocking the sun from getting to it. Some
one said the lawn can get a disease
from being watered at night other say
reseed the whole lawn come spring. Can
grass die out but only in patches???

Can you post a pic? It sounds like the turf variety may be different
in those area's. Could be poa annua or bentgrass or rye. It's
hard to say without seeing it.

Disease or insect damage can occur in patches too.

Do you still drive the Torino with the stripe on the side?

We suggest core aeration every season as long as your thatch layer
isn't more than 1/2 inch thick. If it's more than that you're
better off using a de-thatcher. You can rent either machine.

Off topic? ;-)

Actually it's not all dead grass, much of it is part of the living
plant and a small layer helps protect the soil from the sun and
weed infestation.

hows this, when sinking a ground rod you have to pass through a build up
of thatch which is part of the natural evolution of grass... covered it
i guess (no pun intended)

I like it! If you load up your thatch layer, is it considered ground wave?
