Steveo lawn question
Yes I know you have a degree in
grass science so answer me this, why does a lawn get yelow patches in it I know its winter but this spring I will see dead spots in the lawn like last year. It is not because of not watering or uneven watering and no theres nothing blocking the sun from getting to it. Some one said the lawn can get a disease from being watered at night other say reseed the whole lawn come spring. Can grass die out but only in patches??? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Article poste via Voila News - http://www.news.voila.fr Le : Tue Feb 24 20:04:31 2004 depuis l'IP : acd120f9.ipt.aol.com [VIP 532284301978] |

It sounds like the turf variety may be different in those area's. Could be poa annua or bentgrass or rye. It's hard to say without seeing it. Disease or insect damage can occur in patches too. Do you still drive the Torino with the stripe on the side? -- Mopar http://www.allpar.com/mopar.html Go 40 42 12 |

If it's more than that you're better off using a de-thatcher. You can rent either machine. http://www.gov.on.ca/OMAFRA/english/...s/thatchcn.htm =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Article poste via Voila News - http://www.news.voila.fr Le : Wed Feb 25 01:19:08 2004 depuis l'IP : aca8a039.ipt.aol.com [VIP 532284301978] -- Mopar http://www.allpar.com/mopar.html Go 40 42 12 |

Off topic? ;-) Actually it's not all dead grass, much of it is part of the living plant and a small layer helps protect the soil from the sun and weed infestation. -- Mopar http://www.allpar.com/mopar.html Go 40 42 12 |

. If it's more than that you're better off using a de-thatcher. We used a "de-Thatcher" a few years back... it was called John Major. Well, it got rid of "Thatcher"... but it was just as bad. Now we are hoping to find an effective de-Blair. :~) Regards. Peter. |

May be I will hire a high school kid for $20 this spring and have him do what you suggest. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Article poste via Voila News - http://www.news.voila.fr Le : Wed Feb 25 03:02:42 2004 depuis l'IP : ac829115.ipt.aol.com [VIP 532284301978] |
