Jim I stand by my statement. there is no excuse to advise this guy to do something illegal and harassing I dont care if you disguise your advise with a wink wink oh dont do this lol And please dont tell us that story of how you keyed the 10KW military transmitter again it does get the keyclowns all sexualy excited. Perhaps you didn't understand what I was talking about when I mentioned the area I am in. Around here, you can *try*, but it is unlikely anyone give a d*mn. I had a woman blocking my driveway waiting for a woman in a house *across* the street. She wouldn't move. When I told her I would call the police (I had to go to work) she said the cops most likely wouldn't come and it would take them at least an hour if they came at all. She sat right there (why not 10 feet one way or the other? Or, better yet, across the street in front of the house she was picking up the other fool?). She picked up her passenger about 10 minutes later and, fortunately, I was still 10 minutes early for work. I've had stereos blasting and people wouldn't turn them down. I added the Souse stuff for the entertainment center to counter that, plus bought a transmitter as backup. I didn't need them. The people moved (or, likely, went to jail. Drugs are very prevalent here). These are the type you have to deal with here. That incident, plus this fact: over the past 20 years, there have been some homes broken into. There would be a rash of two or three and then some homeowner would blow the intruder away. Of course, having been inside of their own home, no arrests were made. Then things would quiet down for 5 or 6 years. Perhaps 15 years ago, a homeowner heard noise from his garage. He blew someone away who was stealing his bicycle. He was arrested, but, funny thing, the grand jury refused to indict him. LOL. Then things got quiet again. Due to those facts, around here you might ask the neighbor. Likely nothing will change. Then, you do what you have to and just keep a 12 gauge handy (funny, but 12 gauges have been involved in a number of those incidents. They are very effective. Just make sure they are inside your house). I feel certain you think I'm exaggerating; I'm not. BTW, that RCA transmitter was not 10 kW. It was a 40 kW output transmitter. No one else is getting all excited; why are you? 73 from Rochester, NY Jim --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Drugs are very prevalent here). These are the type you have to deal with here. The breakdown of the moral fabric of society is very prevalent in many areas. It's a shame that yours is one of the worst. I'm sure the behavior of the radio op's in your area are reflective of this behavior as well. It's bad when people lack the common courtesy to not do things like block someone else's driveway. It's especially telling when after being asked to move, they refuse. It's a greater shame that the decent people are forced to resort to clandestine methods to rid the neighborhood of this type of trash. That incident, plus this fact: over the past 20 years, there have been some homes broken into. There would be a rash of two or three and then some homeowner would blow the intruder away. Of course, having been inside of their own home, no arrests were made. As it should be. We need to move away from the liberal mentality which attempts to paint criminals as "victims". When someone is committing a crime against one's home and family, then they should have the right to defend against it. If moral decency is not enough to deter scumbags from committing crimes, then the very real possibility of coming up against deadly force should be. Due to those facts, around here you might ask the neighbor. Likely nothing will change. Then, you do what you have to and just keep a 12 gauge handy (funny, but 12 gauges have been involved in a number of those incidents. They are very effective. I can't live in that type of area. Dave "Sandbagger" http://home.ptd.net/~n3cvj |

I appreciate your comments, but that isn't an option. I have asked him
to turn it down numrous times, which he does, but then after a week or so he'll start again. Calling the police isn't an avenue i want to go down. If you call the police out in the uk, when it comes round to selling your house, you have to, by law, state if you have had problems such as noisy neigbhours. Therefore making it difficult to sell your house. I'm also not bothered about him trying to give an arse whipping as he's a little ****. I can't intimidate him either because he's the type of person to call the police. Therefore i want to get my own back so he knows how i feel. thanks for condoning rf interference to a neigbors stereo and not having the guts to own up to it surely the guy will find out its a cb and surly he will come knocking on dudes door and then their will be an ass kicking and it will be your fault Jim. or some other cber will be blamed for it. your solution is typical key clown thinking, low down and dirty like Steveo harassing leland at his home while keeping his ID hidden etc. In the UK there are police just like here all it takes is a polite visit to the guy and ask him to turn down his music if he doesnt respond then get the police to remind him, case closed. |

Thanks for your comments. Could you point me in the right place to get
a better understanding about cb. If possible could you also just elaborate on some of the things you have mentioned as i don't know anything about cb. For instance what is a stock cb. What is SSB? How much would a stock cb cost and where would you advice getting one from on the internet? Thanks Dude "Jim Hampton" wrote in message ... Hello, Dude Many areas have enacted ordinances which allow the local police to ticket CBs which cause interference, so you might wish to reconsider. The problem is, of course, that the speaker wires can pick up radiation and conduct it back into the audio system which can then rectify (detect) the signal, amplify it, and send it back to the speakers. To avoid interference, it would be best to have an outdoor antenna, oriented vertically. The reasoning is that most of the speaker wires will be run horizontally. Should you run a horizontal dipole (bent, if necessary), especially around the floor of your apartment/condo, the chances would be great that you would interfere with his stereo - a *lot*. Of course, you wouldn't want such a dipole right on the wall next to his unit. A stock cb would likely wreck havoc to his stereo if fed into two 9 foot lengths of wire (a dipole) run along the wall between your units, so don't do that. Of course, if you ever had any interference problems, you'd be better off running ssb. It will interfere as much, but your voice won't be recognizable. Hopefully, you wouldn't do something like that. I had a problem a couple of years ago. A 500 watt entertainment center plus 250 watt subwofer went a long ways to curing the problem. That, plus recordings of "The Thunderer", "Washington Post March", "The Stars and Stripes Forever", and a whole lot of other marches burned onto a cd can work wonders. ![]() Hope this helps! Best regards from Rochester, NY Jim "Dude" wrote in message om... I have a noisy that has no respect for people. He has mixing decks which he plays all the time which you can hear through the wall. I have researched ways of interfering with his stereo and came across many web sites stating that cb can affect stereo speakers. I know this isn't really the group to ask this, but has anyone suggestions on how to interfere with his stereo speakers as he is starting to really get on my nerves. Any help would be appreciated.
