Neg, bone stock, never opened. Just bought it saturday to get me
back home with the travel group. Ill go through my Antenna again.

Is a no groundplane antenna? or better yet is it a fiberglass Motorhome?
This could be causing problems. Remember you need an RF groundplane not just
an electrical ground to the antenna. Beings that you may have purchased a
low cost "get you by" unit (radio), it may be more finiky.
