Don't forget to check for good connections on the power side... A bad
ground, or a weak + will do that too, in certain inexpensive radios... -SSB Chad Wahls wrote: "R. Scott" wrote in message ... Do you hear anything on your end? Might just be the mike button squeaking a little bit and being picked up by the mike, as the radio probably switches to transmit just before the button is fully depressed... Just an idea... PH Not a thing on my end, everythign sounds perfect. They just said it was chirping at first now its a short loud squeal for 1/2 second. Then everything is fine. -- Rick Everett, Washington Remove THREAD to reply. If you are running a cheapo amp it's a common problem. Usually stems from an impedance mismatch causing resonation in the feedline/antenna. They are actually hearing a harmonic of the resonation. If it's a bone stock rig check your line and antenna for damage and SWR. Won't hurt to know your ERP either. If all is well the radio's output section may need tuned. Has it been screwdrivewr modded? Or peaked? Chad |
