I got to test out my RMitaly KL500 amp today. It seems to work as
advertised. I just jury rigged it to my battery, and I got favorable
reports on channel 19 at full power. The watt meter indicated 200 w
am with 10w drive (15w should excite it to full power). Alittle
higher with the engine running. Modulation was clean on AM. On SSB,
I did get a report of over modulation at full power, but that cleared
up when I backed down on it abit. No increase in SWR. I need to
find some 8 GA. stranded wire for a more permanent installation.
