Hopefully not. We shall see. You understood my point though. Unfortunately, I do. I understood your "clash of social class" but the fact that they sat there like snotty rich snobs and complained about the noise of death & mayhem during a civil war, that would **** me off more. Your there to help them, protect them, make their country a better place, putting you're life on the line for them, they don't raise a hand to help you or themselves.................. F#@k them! Re-read your history books: The US and several other UN nations were there to keep Israel and Syria from starting WWIII in war-torn Lebanon. If Lebanon's neighbors stayed behind their borders the US would have let the civil war continue unabated because we had no interest in that country. Yup, you are correct, but it's when we stayed too long that's when you guys started to get targeted. Sound familiar? Landshark -- Is it so frightening to have me at your shoulder? Thunder and lightning couldn't be bolder. I'll write on your tombstone, ``I thank you for dinner.'' This game that we animals play is a winner. |

Atheists do celebrate it, don't they (Grin) Us atheists celebrate anything we want, and we enjoy it more because we are neither compelled nor limited by any religion. As for New Year celebrations, I'm past the age where I can use it as an excuse to get blind, stinking drunk and launch some lead skyward (air traffic is noticably absent this evening). Nowdays I use the holiday to look back on the past year, praise myself for my accomplishments, analyze my failures, and contemplate the possibilities of the coming year. That, and catch up on my bookkeeping so I can get my tax return in early. |
