Telescopic mast, where did it go? I can't find anything but that cheap
stuff they sell at Lowes that resembles galvanized exhaust pipe. Anyone
know where I can order the heavier stuff? (i know shipping's gonna suck)

I fell into some gear, the nicest piece is an icom-720 with a nice power
supply. It's almost just what I was looking for, at a cheaper price than I
was willing to spend.

I need a recommendation for a desktop mic for it now.

Ever price some their headphones? Egad! My Archer headphones kicked ass
for that definitive Floyd album and I got them at a discount store in
the seventies for not much. This set lasted until about twelve years ago
when they were producing way too much static. Only drawback (imo)
compared to today's hitech models was this specific headset was HUGE!
Speaking of the mics, guess it all comes down to personal preference and
how much one wants to spend.....there are great dynamic mics and there
are great condenser mics.
