I bought mine about 15 years ago for $500 complete. I think the amp alone was going for over $1,000. I can't even begin to imagine the radio. The funny thing is people got them free years ago, as the military upgraded to more modern equipment. Now that are gold. BTW, can you take a pic of yours and send to my email? I have never seen your setup. Vinnie S. |

Have you seen what they sell for lately? I bought mine about 15 years ago for $500 complete. I think the amp alone was going for over $1,000. You can find them for less, $500 or so for a working amp. There were a bunch of them at the Dayton swap-meet. I can't even begin to imagine the radio. The funny thing is people got them free years ago, as the military upgraded to more modern equipment. Now that are gold. They were always gold, the only reason they were made available to the public was the government required it for Collins to have the contract. Built like a brick crap house, with great shielding. The audio is sweet..tubes are getting a bit thin now for some of those old tubers. BTW, can you take a pic of yours and send to my email? I have never seen your setup. Vinnie S. Will do. |
