Aspens dumping their leaves while still green, maples dropping their seed pods before they're mature, Virginia Creeper turning colors before the berries are ripe, etc. Anything like that happening in your neck of the woods? Yea, quite a bit actually, it's from the hot dry summer we've had. hot and dry here which is good for the vineyards. Finally cooling off here, which is good for everything else. Hey mope, can you recommend a good over the counter weed killer? |

From: (Steveo) 172.158.60.162 (Hey mope, can you recommend a good over the counter weed killer? ) What are you trying to control, and where do you want to use it? Since we're on the subject....BROADLEAFS and freakin' clover!!!! My beautiful bahia was invaded with that ****ty St. Augustine thatch native Floridians call grass when a new neighbor moved in. I just got done going round and round with TrueGreen Chemlawn after they ripped me off. Had their service all spring and summer and it did nothing at all except slightly burn/singe the edges of the leaves on the broadleaf and weeds and make them curl a bit, but they didn't die. In fact, they grew hearty all summer. Had their "manager" come out twice and he wrote down some things and said it would be corrected. It wasn't. I was then told I would get a complete refund since the beginning of my service. It never came. Finally, after having a reporter call the *******s, they sent me a refund check in 3 days!!. Truegreen sucks and are rip off artists. I was told the drunk who was spraying my yard was either using the wrong chemical, watered-down chemicals, or not enough chemicals! A bit more digging reveals the company employs not only drunks, but criminals, as many of their employees have multiple police records. The company also had problems with the Federal Trade Commission regrarding unethical telemarketing practices and the local BBB banks are chock full of complaints regarding these scumbags. Whatever you do, avoid Truegreen/Chemlawn at all costs..at least in Tampa Bay! Yea, those assholes give the industry a bad name and it's not just in Tampa Bay either. They've been trying to buy my business for years, that's pretty much how they grow anymore..buy up the small guys customer lists. The turf in your growing zone is much different than here in Ohio, so I'm not sure if the typical three way broadleaf herbicides/mix rates that we use up here apply to your turfgrasses. Your local county extension agency should be of some help in choosing the right control products. |
