![]() "The Magnum" wrote in message ... "TNT" wrote in message ... CBs are for simple minded people. If CBs impresses you then you are all ****ed up. Most CBers rode the short bus. Err i think you will find on the whole CB radio enthusiasts use the radio for fun, entertainment and the odd help here and there. Just because they dont sit an Amateur exam and then waffle on for hours into the night about tomatoes and health issues and which diode is the best and which bit of wire makes the best antenna bla.. bla.. makes them more human as they havnt become completely geek'ified like some of our more established "no life other than radio" users. Not all amateurs are like this but most sensible amateurs will know plenty of other amateurs who are. But to your first point, CB was meant for the average Jo to communicate to his fellow homies, not to take over his life and to pigeon hole himself into nerdland like so many amateurs do... so they are intended for the everyday person which makes them more popular that amateur radio's although i know quite a few CB'ers who use ham radios although they spend most of their time on CB frequencies. Your attitude also is typical of the "old school" amateur which is why im happy things are changing and your thoughts are a bit out of date.. Thereagain i realise you only typed that to create a responce as you probably havnt got anything else interesting to say.... seems strange though a superior amateur would waste his time in a CB Newsgroup...... 10-4 Awaiting flack.. Graham BTW, im assuming that the original "flamer" of CB users (was it TNT) is an old Amateur boy.... if i am mistaken i apologise... |
