Leo Meyerson (above right) has informed the

amateur community that he does not support

Glenn Baxter, IARN, AARA, or any of Baxter's

activities.




Did this Baxter guy actually say that?


In fact, Meyerson is incensed that

Baxter appears to be using his likeness and

image to promote his businesses.



That sounds very much like citing The Center for Media Studies to give
the false impression the personal opinions on that page are somehow
authenticated by the invocation of such Center. Hypocrisy.

Meyerson has sent a letter to the FCC urging

them not to renew Baxter's FCC license.

Baxter, whose FCC license has expired, has

been accused of sending unwanted

commercial email (spam) to promote his

businesses.



Accused is not the same as guilt.


In his unsolicited mailings, Baxter mentions

Myerson, and on his webpage, Baxter

features a photo of himself with Leo and his

wife Helen.


The writer above first claims Baxter was merely "accused" of sending
spam, then affirms Baxter's guilt by detailing the "unsolicited
mailings" which should have read "alleged unsolicited mailings."


Meyerson said, "Years ago, Baxter insisted on
posing with my wife and me for a picture. I

obliged him. I have no relationship with him

whatsoever. I have not seen him for years.

Please let the amateur community know I'm

not affiliated with him in any way. I believe he

is using my name in an attempt to gain

credibility and I strongly protest the use of my

name in this manner."

Leo Meyerson is an acknowledged pioneer in

the field of radio. Leo is the founder of World

Radio Laboratories and Galaxy Electronics.

Throughout the years Leo has been very

active in public service.


Which entails special treatment or the weighing of his opinion exactly
how?

A life member of the Quarter Century

Wireless Association, Leo served as a

National Director from 1977 to 1987. In 1991

he was named the QCWA Amateur Member

of the year and in 1994 he was inducted into

the QCWA Hall of Fame. Leo is also a life

member of the American Radio Relay League,

At first it appeared you were trying to build
Meyerson up, then you smear him by illustrating his close association
with the incompetents.

Society of Wireless Pioneers, and

International Mission Radio Association

among other associations. In 1980 Leo was

elected a fellow of the Radio Club of America,

one of the most prestigious radio clubs in

America.



I think I get your gist. The more radio-related clubs one belongs to,
the more valid their
opinion should be recognized and more weight given.

Leo Meyerson is the second radio icon to

denounce Glenn Baxter, ex-K1MAN. The first

was famous broadcaster Walter Cronkite, who
has publicly stated that he has experience

with Baxter's lack of ethics.




According to what has been posted here, I believe Baxter also publicly
commented on Cronkite and his lack of integrity regarding the entire
incident.


Cronkite also called on the FCC to deny

renewal of Baxter's amateur radio licenses.

The FCC gives no more creedence to Cronkite's letter than they do to
yours. All are treated equally and the FCC renders decisions independent
ofletters from the public.

There is widespread speculation that the FCC

will affirm Baxter's $21,000 fine and designate

his license for a renewal hearing in front of an

administrative law judge. The judge may deny

renewal to Baxter at that time.


There is also "widespread" speculation that Baxter will drag this out
and in the mean time, continue to operate.

An administrative law judge also has the

authority to order Baxter off the air during any

possible appeal process.

+ November 18, 2005. Leo Meyerson sends

the FCC a letter urging the Commission to

deny license renewal to Glenn Baxter.

+ November 13, 2005. Glenn Baxter,

discussing some of his heroes, whom he says

had no formal education, continues to rail

against FCC Enforcement, saying, "Riley is a

typical moron attorney.


Sounds extremely accurate in my opinion.

Riley IS smart and very dangerous, but he is

still a moron. And a cheap, corrupt politician."

I believe that and I'll tell you why. Riley does not enjoy being pinned
down and made to answer questions that require specific answers. He
would rather hedge and lie instead of admitting he doesn't have the
information one seeks or know the answer to one's question. Some of the
government types are arrogant pricks these days, forgetting where their
salary originates.


Baxter went on to say, "As a group, the

biggest impact on the modern world seems to

be among the no degree folks. Hitler and

Stalin did not have degrees." Baxter also

counts ex-ham Richard Whiten among his

good friends.

I can see where one could claim as much..

Baxter's widely distributed email

supports the theory that Baxter has nothing

but contempt for the FCC and its employees.


Most who are educated about the FCC, do have contempt for them. If
you're not ****ed off at the FCC, then you're not paying attention.


It is hard to imagine how an administrative law
judge reading such a message could possibly

interpret Baxter's statements as anything but

total rejection of the authority of the FCC and

its Special Counsel for Enforcement, Riley

Hollingsworth.



I see. Since when was he charged with "rejection" and when did it become
a crime? Never mind.
