Default Give up CB for Ham?

One day I'm on the interstate... snowing real bad. Call out on the usual
simplex channels on VHF/UHF to get a traffic/conditions report... no answer.
So I grab the "emergency" CB radio I keep under the seat. Call out on Ch
19... got _many_ responses - mostly truckers all with solid info. Very
useful - and enjoyed listening to them all help each other.

That day, ham radio lost and CB won.

Of course CB is better for road reports. What's your point?

Mr Bill
