One of the major meteor showers of the year, the Geminids, dominates
December’s meteor scene. Gemidids meteor rates are rather high (ZHR
around 120 hr-1) and regular year by year. Geminids maximum for 2008
s predicetd by IMO on December 13, on 23 UT. Lot of MS activity is
expected in 144 MHz band, due to concomitant BCC-MS contest. Read
more (as well about other dec. MS-Shower) he www.mmmonvhf.de/ms.php
The team of MMMonVHF did start to archive the past ACTIVITY-OVERVIEW´s
(PERSEIDS 2008 & OVERVIEW PDF-File & EU-MAP) and built up an ACTIVITY-
OVERVIEW´s for each upcoming showers from now on - the GEMINIDS and
BCC MS-Contest youll find at: http://www.mmmonvhf.de/ms.php

PLEASE DO REGULAR UPDATE OF THE eMWS and eMWDXCC at MMMonVHF

The Team of MMMonVHF will use YOUR "Most Wanted" for showing expedition
the most wanted places (specially for MS in europe and EME all over the
world). Remember such nice trips to DXCCs like GU, JW or JD1 these year
or the multi-square operation from Tor, DJ8MS... Some of you did not
update since 01/2007 and so maybe they are not interested anymore or have
had no changes. So therefore we decide to build in a new BUTTON at your
ACCOUNT to click that there was "NO CHANGES" in your "most wanted" since
your last update. Otherwise we will remember your after a years periode
to see if you still have interest in it... NO problem, if not, but than
we will skip these entry after 3 years to have the table as update as
possible (its not a question of quantity, it shall be high quality!).
However, the eMWS and eMWDXCC pages make only sense if the data is as
much up-to-date as possible. So, please feel free to upload your data as
often as you want. SOURCE: The MMMonVHF Team

THE NIGHTLY VHF SKEDS ARE ACTIVE AGAIN
The nightly VHF skeds from Port Elizabeth have been resumed on 144,400
MHz FM to benefit from the excellent Tropo conditions that exist during
the hot summer months. The skeds start at 19:30 SAST when the beam
antennas in Port Elizabeth are pointing west in the direction of Mossel
Bay, Dana Bay and beyond. At 20:00 SAST the beams are turned to East
London and Division 5. While the East London Hams are beaming to Port
Elizabeth it should be possible, under good conditions, for Hams in
Mossel Bay to also hook up with them. During these skeds there is also
the opportunity to arrange tests on 144,200 SSB and/or 70,200 MHz FM.
Please read more in detail http://www.mmmonvhf.de/latest.php?id=2113
