FIRST VIRTUAL CLUB MEETING VIA ZOOM – TOMORROW MONDAY 6th APRIL. 19.30
We have our first MKARS Club meeting through a video conference facility,
Zoom, tomorrow night (Monday). This will be a Club meeting from your own
home – you’ll have to provide the coffee this time!
This is the first time we have tried this, so please bear with us if we
have some technical hiccups with the start-up. There may be some members
new to this type of technology, but once working, it works extremely well.

Once we have all got connected, we’ll have some introductions and general
Club update, and then some virtual presentations where we have kept to the
planned talk theme of getting going on EME. I will act as host.
We can then keep our ‘room’ open in Zoom for a while afterwards to let our
members chat.
If you havent participated in a Zoom video conference call before, log in
and you will be prompted to download the free app. You can join via a
computer (Mac or PC) or even a smartphone. I will act as host for the
meeting.

You can also join the meeting by phoning in but will get audio only. The

NOTE: these are different connections to what was given out a week ago as I
have upgraded the security on our use of Zoom.
The meeting will start at 19.30, but I will be online from about 19.15pm,
so if you havent used Zoom before and want to log in earlier to check that

Online Foundation Training Course & Exam Launched

Follow our announcement earlier this week, the RSGB have confirmed clubs
will continue to administer exams and provide training during lockdown.
Exams will be delivered by remote invigilation. Practicals are suspended.

On that basis we are offering a training course for those interested in
obtaining their foundation licence on 25th April and will be requesting an
exam on 26th April.


Training will include revision tools and online testing, with 1-2-1
feedback and a days group training via online video/learning platform Zoom
on 25th April
