Thank you for the sermon and the finger-pointing. Of course, quoting from
your site, "After concluding I probably wasn't going to break the pile of
Europeans (and realizing I don't need T33 on 20m CW) " I think it is wonderful
that you contributed for a while to the pile up so those of us who do need T33
can have a greater sense of accomplishment when (if) we ever do break that
pile up. Do you also help us out by yelling "up up" on the dx's frequency?

That's a pretty huge jump...

- Calling a DX station who you've not worked before, but who's in a
country you have worked.

OK, this is a real pet peeve of mine. If you've got a rare entity
confirmed on a particular band/mode, do everybody a favour and PLEASE
don't call the next DXpedition to that entity on those bands/modes
until they're essentially begging for Q's!

You'll never hear me calling any operation to VP6D or 3B9 or E30, etc,
on any band/mode that I have them confirmed already. It's not fair to
anybody who still needs them. Sure, I'll call them on bands/mods I
don't alreay have, and maybe give a call on their last day or so if
they're lonely, but that's it.

That said, thank you to whoever started the thread. Calling out of
turn is another sign of a true LID, and exposing LIDS is not something
we should shy away from, IMHO. Publicly shaming LIDS may be the only
form of discipline that's effective to these imbeciles.

I'm not referring to those who occasionally slip up; we're human, we
all make mistakes once in a while. I'm talking about the chronic
cretins who are the frequency cops, the SPLEEEEETers, those 2s in New
Jersey who call when the DX is asking for the west coast, wannabe
tail-enders who stomp over stations who are being worked, CTs, EAs, Is
and OKs (etc, etc) who climb over each other like jackals when the DX
is asking for North America only (and vice-versa) and/or who crank
their mic gain and processing knobs up to 11.

Hell, let's set up a Hall Of Shame - a permanent record of those who
are *egregious* violators. It would take 10 nominations, from
different operators, to qualify, but once there you're there for all
time, for all to see, point and laugh at.
