Amateur Radio now officially DEAD at Radio Shack
- it looks like amateur radio is now officially dead at Radio Shack
- the company no longer lists any transceivers, and appears to have dropped its only HT from the on-line catalog - there are still some accessories for sale, but all seem to be third-party - it looks like the sell-off (which began several years ago) is now complete: no HTs, no mobile VHF/HF units, and no more amateur radios - but you can get your NASCAR scanner, belt accessories and headphones! (and a cellphone and satellite TV service) whoo hoo! :P |

They should take the word "Radio" out of the name of the stores. The store name should be "Shack." Sounds appropriate to me. I would miss the resistors, capacitors, relays and other misc electronic parts they sell. I hope that stays.
