![]() I looked at the specifications for an old pair of Maxon GMRS 210+3 radios, and thats exactly what I want. Its programmable, has two sets of commonly used frequencies and is pretty powerfull. Does anyone out there make something like the 210+3? From Maxon or anybody else. Thanks! I did a Google search for "GMRS radios" and got over 45,000 hits. Ed |

Gee, did the FCC make a mistake in issuing my GMRS license for 50
watts? Not bloody likely. You are correct. The information that I read was old. It used to be limited to 2 watts, apparently. 50 watts is the legal limit for GMRS. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 73! de Andy KC2SSB (ex: KF4KHC/HL9HCT) Beachwood, NJ USA! GMRS used to have 2 different licenses-one with a max of 5 watts, and one
with a limit of 50 watts. After I posted that message, I found that you can use 50 watts on some frequencies. I know that on the frequencies that are shared with FRS, there's a 5 watt limit. On the other, exclusively GMRS frequencies, it's 50 watts. I've applied for a GMRS license as this would probably be a good way to keep in touch with my wife without having to bother with the cell phone. Now I've gotta find a decent base or mobile unit. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 73! de Andy KC2SSB (ex: KF4KHC/HL9HCT) Beachwood, NJ USA!
