Default Icom IC-4AT operation?

I have an Icom IC-4AT, but no manual for it. I can set the PL tones,
but am having difficulty with other aspects of operation, such as
tuning. Anyone have any hints for me?

Also, does anyone have a list of specs or something? There isn't a lot
about this radio on google...

Hi, Are you talking about a IC-4AT or an IC-04AT?
If your talking about a 4AT, it's pretty easy.
I had one of those a while back.
Great radio, can't kill them!!
Tuning? Just use the thumbwheel on top to set the frequency.
If I remember correctly the transmit offset is on the back, plus, minus or
simplex.

Can you give more detailed instructions on tuning?

MrMexico-

You may have missed the question about IC-4AT vs IC-04AT. They are two
different radios.

I have the older IC-4AT. It did NOT come with PL capability. It was necessary
to sandwich a tiny PL tone generator board between two larger boards in the
radio, and the tone is permanently set by soldered jumpers. It can't be
adjusted without a major disassembly and re-programming the jumpers.

Setting frequency and offset is easy on the IC-4AT, as Mark indicated. I have
never used the IC-04AT, but recall it is quite a bit more sophisticated. For
either radio, "tuning" might require a service manual if yours is off
frequency.

A web site that has quite a bit of information including some downloadable
manuals, is http://www.mods.dk/ which I think is in Germany.

Hi, still did not get your name or the date you got your license.
It is on the ticket. What color paper was your license printed on,
Blue or green??

The 4at has volume, squelch on top.
Also, set the numbers on top to the frequency you want.
On the back set the offset, plus or minus or center for simplex.
That's it.
Have fun...
