I sent my FT 890 to Yaseu for repairs about a yr. ago because lighting hit it and knocked the rec out The TX was working fine when I sent it. I never tried it out until now because I use it as a spare. The rec works fine now the TX is only 40 watts in all modes. I called Yaseu about this and they told me the no longer repair the older model radios anymore, that I would have to find someone else to repair it. My question is does anyone have a clue on what them might have done to lower the rf power? I would like to try and repair it myself before trying to get someone else to do it. I have already spend more money on it than it is worth. Any help on this????

There is also a low power switch on one of the circuit boards. It switches
it to a 50 watt output max. Might (a big might) be the problem. It's been a few years since I used an 890. I don't recall exactly what board it's on. 73, Ed KA9EES "Nate Bargmann" wrote in message et...
