I see Radio Shack carries this battery, too. Problem is, Yaesu's version comes with spot-welded tabs. Now that I'm retired, I'm lazy and don't want to go to the extra effort in removing the board the battery is on so I can do a proper job of unsoldering it... I intend to snip the battery tabs from top side and just wire a new (wired) substitute battery to it. Also, I don't like soldering to the stainless steel type cases on such batterys as the one suggested above, which is why I'm considering the option I posted here. Thank you again, though. Ed |
