wireless communication between computers
hi,
I'm trying to assemble a wireless network between two computers. The maximum range is 300m. All the network will do is transfer data from a GPS plus an additional 34 bits of data from one computer to another. Can anyone recommend a cheap, easy to use product? Preferably something that connects to the USB or serial port. thanks, Jon. |

Pcmcia WiFi cards with external directional antennas, or USB WiFi dongles if line of site, or better yet, usb/ethernet WiFi game adapters with highly directional external antennas... Easily do-able for under $100. Bob N9LVU Thanks for the quick reply. Are there any specific products you'd recommend? Is WiFi simpler/cheaper than RF? Jon. |

I'd rather not utilize directional antennas as one computer will be mobile and although it too will have an GPS having a directional antenna means I'll have to move it in the right direction. Is RF a better solution? Jon. |
