A rig to start (under/about 200$) for an absolute novice.

At the moment, no antenna is installed yet (I can't install it)
so I was thinking to something about mobile or a HT.

What do you suggest to get?

A VX-3R is a right choice?

Hi, My first radio is a Kenwood K2AT 2 meter HT. In my area 2 meters is
where the local action is. Check with some of your local radio clubs and
see which band is used most frequently.
