What the hell is this thing

Hi, anyone know what this thing is and what it's used for:

hakuyo simulator

Front: power "trigger" led, "speed" non calibrated dial (continuously
turns), "range" dial says 1-5

on the back: 3 pin power (flat like uhf cb) - round power 8 pin socket with
pins

"200khz"

Any help appreciated
