Default FT-100 transmit problems VHF/UHF

Hi all,
I got the chance to buy a FT-100 plain that has no VHF/UHF power output
I recall the VHF/UHF transistor being v-e-r-y expensive, about 200 dollars
or so.
Any other sources for that expensive transistor?

See http://www.mods.dk/mods.php3?radio=y...ectid=all#2205
for info on transistor replacement substitutions, etc. Also, when you
replace the final, be sure to also perform the "heat mods"
http://www.k0lee.com/thermalmod.htm . Otherwise, the replaced final will
also die in short order...

I would STAY AWAY from the FT-100 and the FT-100D as it (among other crap
from Yaesu) is a problem child. If it's going to be a standby radio..that
might be acceptable..but as a primary...forget it...Eddie
