Does anyone have any experience with it? Icom and Yaesu both make multi-hundred dollar external speakers that have gotten mixed reviews. I would recommend one of the Motorola mobile external speakers from the 90's such as a Spectra or Syntor speaker. I ended up getting a "CLRspkr" speaker with built-in DSP noise reduction. It costs about $215, and it is sold by West Mountain Radio. Here is a link: http://www.westmountainradio.com/CLRspkr.htm The DSP in the speaker is significantly better than the DSP in the Yaesu FT-897. I would rate it as the best accessory I've added to my ham rig. |
