Default M2 2M SSB 9element / 15ft boom installed - Photos

This antenna went together in about an hour (I took my time) and it plays
beautifully at 35ft with a 1.2:1 swr. I also have an M2 Horizontal Loop at
40ft and of course the beam out performs the omni loop but the loop is my
main listening antenna for 2M SSB. Also have a Ringo Ranger II up at about
30ft for repeaters and fm mobiles. Pics of all 3 and tech data links at

Hi Charlie,

Good set of pictures. You used the night sky and the day's clouds to
good advantage to give contrast. The moon shot was a nice touch too.

I especially like using the last 4 inches of transmission line used as
mast.

Hi Richard,
That last 4 inches of line for a mast is history now. I had purchased a
mast mounting kit from M2 but when I installed it I was unable to tune the
loop down below about 2:1..so I put the mount away but the swr was erratic
during weather and wind. So..I got the bracket back out and looked it over
and "voila" I realized I had been mounting the antenna on it incorrectly.
Now the bracket works like a charm and all is well.
