Default split ferrites for ign noise?

Has anybody had success using split ferrite donuts on the spark plug
wires to suppress ignition noise? Would they be most effective on the
end near the distributor/electornic ignition, spark plugs, or both?

Thanks/'73...Carl - W5SU
