Default FCC legal question

On wifi 2.4GHZ transceivers they require to be FCC certified:

Are vendors required to supply FCC numbers by law to inquiring
customers?

Are radios that have been modified such as placed in an enclosure with
antenna required to be recertified by law?

What is the real-world policy of the FCC on the above two questions?

Thanks, in advance, for any helpful answers

"Certified" basically means that the device meets or exceeds all of the
requirements set forth by the FCC.

Possibly, depending upon the type of device. What "number" specifically?

Not if you did it yourself and have no intention of marketing it.

"Certification" or "Type acceptance" is basically used for mass marketing
letting the public know that the device does meet the minimal requirements.

FCC ID the number needed to determine IF in fact radio has been
certified. It is required to be placed visible on the radio, but are
vendors required to supply the number on request?

Are radios that have been modified such as placed in an enclosure
with antenna required to be recertified by law?

But if a company modifies the radio including addition of high power
antenna, it has to be recertified AFAIU.

also used to make sure the radio meets max. power requirements as set by
the FCC.
