The war, which continues in Iraq, is the culminating episode in the
long 20th-century history of the rebellion of the colonized against
the empires of the west: it is the story of Vietnam, Algeria and the
Congo, of Nicaragua and the Lebanon, of Chilean guerrillas, Australian
Aborigines and Celtic nationalists, of all the counter-cultural forces
of the century past.

And to understand such an epochal struggle across the continents, we
don't need to get exercised about weapons or mobile labs as possible
causes. The reason for what happened lies in the nature of America's
hegemony in 2004, the solitude of its self-understanding, the tragedy
of its geographically enforced isolation, and the sum total of over a
century of European, and especially British, meddling in the Middle
East. The always invented cause is a throw-away prop to argument: it
can come and go. But the reason was there long before the deeds of
war. We did not need the Iraq war to happen to establish our knowledge
of the nature of US power, and British collusion in that omnipotence.

This is why Iraq troubles the way we live now, and have lived for a
long time. It is a call to self-examination and the national
conscience, neither of which are natural ports of call for the breezy
certitudes and quick collapses of British journalism.

Anyway,
I bet they're hiding military secrets in there. Probably new stealth
planes and such. It would be so much better if we all
just opened up to each other and stopped hiding stuff from other
countries! It's only fair, you know.
How the heck is our enemy supposed to defend themselves if they don't
know what is coming next??
Stupid US cheaters.
Sheesh.

Huh? The topic was why the government was hiding the number of dead
bodies coming into Andrews. Why are you off on a tangent and being a
smart ass about stealth planes, SETI and Roswell? You are -evading- the
topic. Please stay focused and try and explain why the government is
hiding the number of dead bodies coming in. (and whatever does hiding the
number of dead bodies coming to Andrews have to do with letting the enemy
"know what's coming next")???

Anyway, thanks for demonstrating that you are not the brightest bulb in
the box.

Sheesh.

PS: Then again, I heard on the SETI site that they may have moved the
Roswell debris and bodies to Andrews, and anyone trying to take pics
would get all those funny lines and crap in the film, caused by all the
space radiation and stuff....
So in order to maintain control on the civilian film stock and keep from
wasting it, the government has a secret
plan to stop all photography within the next 20 years anyway.

No... I mean the Belkans. I'm an ace in an air wing involved in the Belkan

Hornet and I can switch planes. Problem is, there's this big laser beam

I'm going to reply to TWO of your posts at once............. "Woody"

"IF" the inspectors were to be believed, there was no WMD. But then again,
as proven - the intelligence may have been flawed. SO, who DO you believe?
WAR is a hell of a price to pay for a lie - regardless how started or
perpetuated.

Oppression? Can we "actually" believe that? Those groups couldn't smuggle
arms in - to try to break free of Saddam? His intelligence couldn't be any
better than ours and we know ours has cracks. Seems nothing else can be
believed. Going in - we've not done any better - there is more chaos there
now than ever. More killing and NOT by "our" hands. There isn't a day you
don't hear more have died - soldiers included - and usually by road side
bombs, cars or buses filled with them, people wearing them. We're doing
NOTHING to slow it down or stop it. Unlike some lame brain said, we did
NOT "need" this war. We should have let them live as they want to live.
Who are WE to shove democracy down their throats? They've lived that way
for centuries, why change now? As long as "WE" aren't being attacked, why
the hell should we give a damned. We wouldn't want THEM coming here to do
that. Oppression? Some could even suggest with our own civil liberties
being taken away - WE are being led in that direction to some degree.

Women and children? NO - by rights they should NOT be targets (popular
"moral" thinking) - BUT - times are changing. There have been "reports"
(believed or not) of women strapping bombs on themselves. And we know -
that kids here in the U.S. are getting braver and braver. Doing things
unheard of when we were kids. It has been said that the women and children
in Viet Nam were just as dangerous - if it is to be believed. Women here
are getting braver with crimes too. So.......... they're not so "stay at
home - meek and mild - dainty - mom types" - anymore.

I do NOT agree with war (unless attacked). BUT if you get into it by force
or otherwise, you may as well "FIGHT IT" like you mean it. There is no
backing down - then. We went in there bombs and missles firing. Hardly a
life lost (on our side). It was when we got into the towns when we started
losing them most - just as Saddam predicted. The enemy on the battlefield
was easy to spot. Once in towns - forget it - you're surrounded and have
no clue WHO they are or WHERE they are. If we hadn't backed off - this
thing may have been over - with less lives lost on our sides at least.

Back to Lame Brain......... if war is "needed" then lets twist it around
to make it more appreciated. IF we are attacked - then we NEED to go kick
their ass and do it good - no holds barred. Make them realize they screwed
up by doing so.

I find it interesting that MOST of our enemies have been "savages" in
actions......... Not giving a damned if it was man, woman or child. I find
it more interesting that we fight with kid gloves when it comes to
finishing the job RIGHT. The Government always starts the ****, but then
takes pity and pulls back the reins. THAT is when most of our people start
getting killed. Yep "Black Sabbath's" "WAR PIGS" fits ideally here.

Yeah see, but you could've said it simpler as thus: oppression that's out
of sight and out of mind should be left that way. Who wants to lift a
finger in the name of righteousness, for Christ's sake? [haha... I made a
funny...]

Going into another country, [after giving them ample time and warning to
clean up the evidence], then booting out the murderous dictator and his
posse...? How selfishly unfair to the soft, fat and lazy tree-hugging US
citizens that believe in selfish unfairness! Doesn't our government
realize the number of chickens being murdered every day! And for what? A
casserole?!?!
Savages, I say! Another vote for packing up and moving to Somalia!

Either
our "intelligence" wasn't so freaking intelligent OR the man named
Bush -
LIED.

Since Congress saw the very same intelligence - and then voted for the
war - that means the intelligence wasn't so freaking intelligent!

If "Bush LIED" then all of Congress LIED also. Everyone seems to
conveniently forget this.

Mike

Whats to forget? THE WHOLE FREAKING THING WAS A LIE. Doesn't matter WHO
"started" it or "supported" it. FACT IS - we've got 2000 plus dead
soldiers now due to this LIE. A LIE IS A LIE IS A LIE - no matter how
started or allowed to go on. BUSH, CONGRESS, whoever - ALL are
responsible for this Travisty. THEY ALL have to accept blame - after
all, THEY are in command. AND if our so called intelligence isn't so
intelligent, then maybe we should look a tad harder before going into a
war. Hussien made an ass of all of them. Maybe he did wrong and he's on
trial now for it, but he WAS right!

Errr.... not sure how to answer that.... ? You're one really lost soul, bro.
You might wanna arm yourself before jumping into an argument.
Study the Qu'ran some, then come back. [You're maybe familiar with a
paraphrase of "Know thine enemy."??]

Nothing you've stated has squat to do with Islam as a religious practice.
Islam, as well as most Christian denominations are indeed a religion of
peace.
While the Qur'an is single viewpoint of a rather confused, self-proclaimed
prophet,
he speaks mostly of peace and love, just as the Bible does. Unfortunately,
there are many more
contradictions in his rendition.
At any rate, there are several branches/types of Muslims and
there is no mention of Honor Killings in the Qu'ran. Moreover; said killings
are specifically prohibited by the Sharia.
Those that practice it, do it against their own religious law, based on
their own interpretations of it.
Sound familiar at all??
If you're bored and want to see how wrong you are, just do some research.
While you're at it, you might wanna check into how many Christian terrorists
there are right here in the
good ol' USA, running loose right beside every other type of terrorist. Stop
listening to the media for once
and maybe get your own information.

Go stand near an abortion clinic, gay bar, or similar place. Won't be long
before some
mad Christian bomber shows up, killing in the name of God, in order to stop
the killing.
Just like our buddy Osama.... It's not about religion, it's about insanity.

One day, if you decide to pay any attention to what's going on around you
instead of making
random arm-chair assumptions
based on rumor, you may figure out it isn't the Muslim, Hindu or Christian.
It's the crazies bro, not their chosen religion....

Your Christian friend,

You should really stop by your local terrorist group in Iraq and explain
to
our Muslim extremist friends that we are in no way trying to convert them
to
Christianity and that we have no intentions of converting to Muslim, so
there is really no problem here.
They'll understand.
rb

........
Didn't you hear that Islam is a religion of peace? Heck, any Lib or
C.A.I.R.
member can tell you that.
So what if they cut off a few heads here or there? So what they kill a few
of their daughters or wives in what they call Honor Killings. Heck, so
what
if they cut off the fingers of their women who (gasp!) wear fingernail
polish? (there were more that 1,000 "honor killings" in Pakistan alone in
2005)
Yup...give em' an olive branch and tell em' you love em'. No problem. Then
they'll behead you.
