N8CPA came up the new term "Liddite" to characterize those who have been
known for years as "LandLine Lids"... While discussing the ARESCOM proposal, he says: ---------------------------------------------------- All of this appears to be born of what I call a "liddite" mindset. I use that term because they frequently refer to those of us who question their schemes as "luddites." It's a name we earn simply because we know the difference between using a computer as an Amateur Radio appliance, and using Amateur Radio as a computer appliance, as the liddites prefer and propound. ---------------------------------------------------- I think the new term "Liddite" is much better than "LandLine Lid" though I wish there could have been an "OM" in there, as in "Liddomites", for example. Somehow "Liddomite" sounds more appropriate, but I guess "Liddite" is really the best way to go. Charles Brabham, N5PVL |
