There's nothing stopping non-members from writing to Ofcom explaining why they're non-members, and making representations as individuals (for example, requesting a review of the current licensing scheme). well making a gues based on how things in Americe Vsav the ARRL and FCC the indivgual Hams are largely un willing to stand up and say something with some kind of Occifcail scation for it, this si likly why there were about 3000 coment the recent NPRM here in the USA out of 600,000 hams and about 300,000 arrl memebrs I suspect that the ARRL is rather more representative of hams in the US than the RSGB is of hams in the UK, but there's something in what you say. By and large, citizens respond to corrupt "leaders" by working longer hours, drinking more alcohol, and blaming the French and the Arabs. OTOH, the opportunity is there for hams to cut out the middlemen and tell the government agency what they want. -- Hil |
