I've never done an A/B test to see if a substantial bypass C helps Adrian but since a g-g 3-500Z is quite linear as long as its ZSAC is 75mA to 100mA, there can be a fairly wide variation in bias potential before distortion enters the picture. I took your advice on 10 ohm cathode resistors (unbypassed) in a cathode driven sweep tube amp here, and 40m imd performance was substantially improved. good news.
