Default pic-a-star

Anybody on this NG ever build one of G3XJP's picastar designs?
I was starting to design my own QRP rig based on some of W8DIZ's
(www.kitsandparts.com) circuits. I ended up ordering his toroid kits
for the WA2EBY IRF510 amplifier and the PA3AKE bandpass filter. I
already have a DDS-60 for my HFO and built an R1 receiver board to start
with a direct conversion receiver. I was going to expand that into a
transceiver using a 9mhz IF (I have some surplus filters) but then I ran
into the RadCom articles on the picastar transceiver. This may very
well end up being the poor man's K3! The only down side is having to
etch your own PC boards. VK3PE did have some factory made boards run
off, but I missed out on his last scheduled run, don't think he is going
to make anymore....
