Default Standard RX design?

Much clipped to save bandwidth.

I can not tell you if that receiver was a "Standard design" but the
description you gave was rather popular at the time you suggested it was
built,, Perhaps a Handbook from back then would help you to find one
close enough to aid in trouble shooting.. Or a gray haired Old timer.
