Default Vector Network Analyzers

(Several of us have enjoyed the end product
as a Beta test group for something over a year.) I don't have any time

or
interest in participating in a sincere dialog.

Followups set to rec.radio.amateur.equipment, since by your own
admission your post is off-topic for this group.

My turn to be confused. MY Vector Network Analyzer IS an amateur project and
was constructed by myself. You have some sort of problem with admissions or
interpretations? I REALLY resent your arbitrary action without recourse. You
haven't seen fit to redirect any of the crap about Art Bell, and if that's
anything to
do with amateur radio homebrew I for one fail to see it.

Harold, I think you're "misunderestimating" both the degree of sarcasm
behind my post and my degree of control over the newsgroup's content. I
was merely suggesting that it makes no sense to deride an honest inquiry
about a chip and its applications on a homebrew newsgroup. After all,
you can buy any number of radios and kits, most of which will outperform
and out-feature anything any of us are likely to build, but that
doesn't mean you should tell someone who asks about designing a receiver
to STFU and go buy a 95S-1.

If you're seeing a lot of spam on the newsgroup, you may want to look
into a news provider that supports filtering on the server side. With
Giganews.com, I never see more than about 1% or so of the spam. I'm
afraid I'm unable to offer any further help with the Art Bell crap,
despite the power invested in me to redirect follow-ups to my own posts.

I believe you redirected my post without consideration as to what it
comprised.
My comments properly were directed to a poster who asked about an Analog
Devices chip that would not satisfactorily perform the task desired due to
an
inability to resolve an ambiguity at a single frequency. He then asked
about
using the phase slope of additional frequencies and I suggested doing it the
way he wished. I've already expended more "discussion" than I intended,
mainly
due to what I think is your "sarcasm". I didn't suggest buying anything .
Might
you be "misunderestimating" the results of your actions? If you have ANY
control over the newsgroups content, you might expend it more judiciously.
