The only exception to the attributes of the KW2000
which I'd modify is the 200kHz wide bands.

a reproducible design
having only the facilities of, say, the KW2000, would provide the
basis of any station.

I've got a KW2000 ..........with one 6146........

Can't you cope with modern technology?

The KW wasn't even good for its day.

Is this why you keep getting sacked?

I wonder if we as a NG might put together a design
for an HF rig that could be built with ease by novices
and experienced constructors alike?

A good idea.

There are a few people with the required knowledge.

Walt could help with the specification.

Gary (is it Peach) also.

Brian (G8OSN) is probably one of the few with the technical knowledge
needed.

You, Airy, could sweep the floor.

DSP for the audio and mixing stages, perhaps
with a low IF of ooo 50kHz to resolve the ringing
problems that arise in narrow baseband filters
for CW.
