I assume this is true across the whole family: 464, 465, 465B, 465M, 466, 475, 475A, & 485. TEK used to have a repair kit that included both contacts, drill bits to remove the securing rivets, and tiny nuts and bolts to secure the new contacts. Now I'm getting confused. What is HF in this context? I don't remember seeing rivets.... High Frequency cam switches, the ones used in the attenuators.Different from the LF contacts used in the timing switch area. The HF contacts have a plastic piece insulating the actual goldplated contact from the spring arm. LF contacts are one piece spring phosphor-bronze. They also had a repair kit for the LF contacts used in the timing switch, with an alignment guide to get them straight. I have one of these kits, and had assumed that it fixed ALL the cam switches. I've never needed it, but it was reassuring to know that it was there. But LF only? Suddenly I'm feeling less reassured.... Both are no longer available. Where are the LF contacts used vs the HF contacts? The timing switch. -- Jim Yanik jyanik-at-kua.net |
