Author : Pat Bunn , N4LTA

Gain : 10 dB Input : 10 Watts A single RF power transistor is
used : MRF492 ( NPN) (perhaps a bit dated ,but readily replaceable by a
current type.

Power supply for the unit : 13.8 V-DC Unit is shown as sitting in a
diecast enclosure with a large heatsink.

it was used in a construction (QST) 20 years ago, and the writer
mentioned it was somewhat dated then, not to easy to get gain. the
only reason to use it was the price, so I wonder if it is difficult to
find a better device now?

My first 6m amplifier from '85 used BLY94 because it was free, but it
cannot give more than 60-70W
