![]() M0IAX /////////////////////////////////////////// Set up MMSSTV and the IC-705 Posted: 09 Jan 2021 07:32 AM PST http://m0iax.com/2021/01/09/set-up-m...nd-the-ic-705/ As I sat here procrastinating instead of doing something positive I got side tracked into looking at getting the MMSSTV software working with my IC-705 the best radio I have ever seen by the way So here is something slightly more useful than sitting here staring out of the window! I found this post Icom IC-7300 Rig control for MMSSTV – VK3DAN Thanks VK3DAN! Which is probably the one I followed when I set up MMSSTV with my IC-7300. Knowing that the CI-V commands are pretty much the same as the IC-7300 for the IC-705 I thought I would give it a try. NOTE that the IC-705 CI-V address should be set to the standard A4h So to set up MMSTV, find the file named Mmsstv.ini in the installation directory of MMSSTV ( mine is in C:\Ham\MMSSTV ) and open the file in your favourite text editor I use visual studio code by Notepad will work fine. Around half way down the file you will see the section with the title [RADIO]. You can delete what is already there and replace with the below of you can edit it to match. either way works. RADIO] PortName=COM8 BaudRate=9600 BitLen=1 Stop=1 Parity=0 flwXON=0 flwCTS=0 usePTT=0 ByteWait=0 Cmdxx=164 CmdInit= CmdRx=\$FEFExxE01C0000FD\ CmdTx=\$FEFExxE01C0001FD\ FileGNR= OpenGNR=0 PollType=3 PollInterval=5 Replace the PortName COM8 with the portname that your IC-705 is using see my screenshot from device manager below. you only need to enter the COMx part your number may be different. Next find your way to the end of the Mmsstv.ini file where you will find the [RADIOCOMMAND] section. Replace this with the text below: RadioMenu] Menus=10 Cap1=3.640 MHz LSB - Aus. Call Cmd1=\$FEFExxE00500006403FD\$FEFExxE02600000101FD Cap2=7.043 MHz LSB - Intl Call Cmd2=\$FEFExxE00500300407FD\$FEFExxE02600000101FD Cap3=7.170 MHz LSB - Australia, USA Call Cmd3=\$FEFExxE00500001707FD\$FEFExxE02600000101FD Cap4=10.132 MHz USB - Call USB Cmd4=\$FEFExxE00500201310FD\$FEFExxE02600010101FD Cap5=14.230 MHz USB - Intl Call Cmd5=\$FEFExxE00500002314FD\$FEFExxE02600010101FD Cap6=14.233 MHz USB - Digital Call USB Cmd6=\$FEFExxE00500302314FD\$FEFExxE02600010101FD Cap7=14.240 MHz USB - Euro Call Cmd7=\$FEFExxE00500002414FD\$FEFExxE02600010101FD Cap8=21.340 MHz USB - Intl Call Cmd8=\$FEFExxE00500003421FD\$FEFExxE02600010101FD Cap9=28.680 MHz USB - Intl Call Cmd9=\$FEFExxE00500006828FD\$FEFExxE02600010101FD Cap10=50.950 MHz USB - Intl Call Cmd10=\$FEFExxE00500009550FD\$FEFExxE02600010101FD NOTE that the frequencies used I found from a google search. the only one I have really used in the past is 14.230 which is the international calling frequency for 20m. You can easily alter or add to the commands yourself, head over to VK3DANs page for a brief explanation of the commands used Icom IC-7300 Rig control for MMSSTV – VK3DAN Finally save the Mmsstv.ini file and If you have followed this correctly when you start MMSTV next it should find and connect to your IC0705 and you can control the VFO using the RadioCommand Menu, loading your CQ Image and clicking the TX button will key up the IC-705 and transmit the SSTV Image. Hope you find this helpful, and once again thanks to VK3DAN for the IC7300 settings, that saved me a lot of time! If you want me to add any other frequencies to the list, or I have any incorrect please let me know. You can find my email and social media links at http://m0iax.com/findme 73 Mark M0IAX |
