NZART Website: www.nzart.org.nz

From the Business Manager ZL2DL

Debby Says…Thank you to all those who paid their subscription on
or before the 30 November in order to be eligible for the membership
prize draw.

The draw was held under police supervision using random number
generating software on Thursday 1st December. I am pleased to advise
that the Icom Hand Held Radio was won by John Moore ZL4TIO of Pine Hill
Dunedin. Congratulations John, we look forward to a photo in the Jan/Feb
issue of Break In, when you receive your prize.

Break In advertising…As you all know Break In is the official
journal of NZART. One very important way to ensure costs in production
of this are kept at a reasonable level, is advertising. AND WE NEED MORE
advertisers.

Perhaps you may know someone in business who is looking for advertising
space in the coming year.

Thinking outside the square on this, for example perhaps an insurance
broker or retirement homes, maybe, although this may sound morbid,
funeral homes.

There are many possibilities and I know the Break In advertising manager
would be very keen to hear from you if you have some suggestions. Please
contact either Lorne Douglas ZL2AHB on or me
here at HQ.

HQ closed…Although it is yet to be confirmed, headquarters will
be closed through the two short weeks over the Christmas period. Dates
of closure will be advertised on the NZART web page.

Finally as this will be the last issue of Info-line for this year, I
would like to thank all those contributors who help to make each issue
more enjoyable and you the readers for your interest. The next issue of
Info-line will be sent out on Friday 6th February 2012.

In the meantime…have a very happy and safe holiday season

Debby ZL2DL

Callsign Clean-up

Further to the information in Headquarters Infoline Issue 221, Radio
Spectrum Management have advised that they have now completed emailing
Amateurs, who have a client email address in SMART, asking them to
update their contact details. This exercise resulted in a low level of
phone calls to the RSM Business Service Centre and a low number of
emails to RSM so the records appear to be more accurate than originally
thought.

RSM will now progressively attempt to contact the 2000 Amateurs who do
not have an email address by post over the next few months asking them
to update their Client Records.

Intruder Watch: Russian Numbers stations on 20 Metres.
Region 1 IARUMS have reported a number of stations appearing on 14280
kHz in A3E/AM mode at 1000 GMT/UTC on Wednesday 2 November and Wednesday
16 November.

Apparently this is the 1010 GMT/UTC schedule, 1000 GMT/UTC schedule is
on 12365 kHz. They have been using this schedule since January 2009.

The Russians change the frequencies every few months, but are also
reusing old schedules. These are of Russian origin.

Russia within Region 1 has a Primary allocation in the range 14250 -
14350 for the Fixed Service i.e. numbers stations, so the activity of
the numbers station is certainly legal.

If you do hear numbers stations, outside this range, please report them
to
or via the various route available to you.
