The changes in the Lubbock market didnt stop with the five station
frequency swap. Townsquare Media is now getting into the act with the
rebranding of Classic Hits 98.1 Kool-FM KKCL Lorenzo as Awesome 98. With
the rebranding comes a shift of the playlist to focus on the 1970s and 80s
while adding some early 90s songs. KKCL has been some form of
Oldies/Classic Hits since the mid-1990s.

KAGM Albuquerque Rebrands As Wild 106.7

American General Media completed the relaunch of 106.7 KAGC Los
Alamos/Albuquerque today as Wild 106.7. The relaunch took place at 12:00pm
with a shift from an Urban lean to a more pop lean for the station. As we
mentioned in our 12/21 Domain Report, the Wild brand has twice been used in
the Albuquerque market. From 1997 until 2005 it was heard on 106.3 and 2007
through 2009 on 97.7. Original Report 12/15: American General Media

iHeartMedia AC Lite Mix 99.9 WMXC Mobile has rebranded as simply Mix 99.9.
No other changes were made to the stations sound or lineup outside of the
new name and logo. WMXC continues to air the syndicated Murphy, Sam Jodi
in mornings.

iHeartMedia has flipped Classic Rock 105.5 The X KQXX-FM Mission/McAllen TX
to a simulcast of Hot AC Kiss 106.3 KHKZ San Benito/Harlingen. The flip
gives the Kiss brand full coverage of the Rio Grande Valley market. KQXX-FM
had dropped its Classic Rock format for all-Christmas in late November
before debuting its new format on Christmas night.
