Retaining its current Beat identity, the move will coincide with the addition of the syndicated Breakfast Club. The new format will place W272BY in direct competition with Radio-Ones 101.1 The Wiz WIZF. 102.3 The Beat announced today the addition of The Breakfast Club to the station’s weekday morning lineup, effective Monday, March 7. Owner/GM Sam Jordan will host mornings from 6-10am, with syndicated content from Country with Carsen, Fitz and Taste of Country Nights. Tuesday, March 1st had listeners in Northwest Pennsylvania KICKIN as WWCB 1370 AM in Corry / Erie; woke up to KICKIN COUNTRY 1370. For the previous three years, WWCB played Classic Hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Station Owner / General Manager Sam Jordan states that he is excited for listeners in NW PA and SW NY states. It brings a fresh approach to an exciting genre of Country music. The station plays Country hits from the 80s, 90s and Today. All of the music is self programmed; however, the station utilizes Country with Carsen, Fitz, and Taste of Country Nights as a part of the lineup. EMF will send four stations to AFA: 88.3 KAWA Alice TX, 88.1 KKWA Aransas Pass/Corpus Christi TX, 91.9 KMRL Buras LA and 1220 WKTZ Jacksonville FL. AFA also gains an option to purchase 101.9 W270CD Jacksonville FL. In exchange AFA will send six stations to EMF: 88.1 KAPG Bentonville AR, 91.1 KAPK Grants Pass OR, 88.9 KSUR Mart/Waco TX, 90.3 WBFY Pinehurst NC, 89.7 WZKW Waynesboro MS amd 90.3 K212EF Las Vegas NM. EMF is also acquiring Classic Rock 105.5 WROK-FM Macon GA from Cumulus Joule Broadcasting divestment trust for $625,000. EMF will flip WROK-FM to its K-Love Christian AC network upon closing of the deal. MBM Radio is selling their five station in Eagle Pass and Uvalde TX to Roca Radio for $800,000. The stations are CHR Power 92.7 KINL Eagle Pass, Classic Rock U-Rock 93.9 KBNU Uvalde, Tejano U102.3 KUVA Uvalde, Coyote Country 104.9 KVOU-FM Uvalde and Tejano 1270 KEPS Eagle Pass. Roca began operating the stations via LMA in December. Cody and Angela Pursel acquired Classic Country 1360 KOHU and AC 93.7 KQFM Hermiston OR from West End Radio for $637,500. Translator Sales |
