Star 105 Toledo Changes Its Channel

Cumulus CHR Star 105 105.5 WWWM Toledo rebranded this morning as Channel
105.5. No on-air changes accompany the rebranding. The move follows the
stations evolution last year from Hot AC to CHR, which did little to help
the station against iHeartMedias competing 92.5 Kiss-FM WVKS. In the Fall
2015 Nielsen Audio ratings, WWWMs 3.4 share trailed WVKS 7.5.

Classic Rock The Cat Debuts In Galax VA

Twin County Broadcasting Southern Gospel 1360 WWWJ Galax VA flipped to
Classic Rock The Cat WCGX at noon today. The Galax Gazette states that the
new format will be centered in the 1970s and dayparted to lean more towards
Classic Hits during the day and harder rock at night. Office manager Betty
Anders will host an hour of Carolina Beach music from 12-1pm Monday through
Thursday, while Tony Moondoggie Phillips will host mornings and serve as
Music Director and Joel Bonn will host afternoons.

Al Payne Named PD Of Alpha Louisville Trio

Former Radio-One Baltimore Operations Manager Al Payne has been named
Program Director for Alpha Medias three Urban targeted stations in
Louisville. Payne will program Urban B96.5 WGZB, Urban AC Magic 101.3 WMJM
and Classic Hip-Hop Old School 105.1 WGHL. In addition to his six year
stint overseeing Radio-Ones Baltimore programming from 2009 through
September 2015, Payne spent time in the company programming 93.9 WKYS
Washington DC and the companys Detroit stations. Alpha Media Louisville, KY
announced today that Al Payne has been named Program Director for Old
School 105.1 (WGHL), Urban B-96.5 (WGZB), and Urban A/C Magic 101.3 (WMJM).
Alfreds award winning radio career has taken him from markets like Raleigh,
Richmond and Greensboro, to some of the nations top cities including
Dallas, Detroit, Washington DC and Baltimore Maryland. He is married to
Michelle Payne and they currently live outside of the Washington/Baltimore
area in Annapolis, MD. Alpha Media Senior Vice President/Market Manager,
Dale Schaefer commented on the announcement, “We are thrilled to have Al
Payne join our Programming team in Louisville. Al has tremendous
programming and leadership skills that will help our Urban staff and
stations to reach new heights. With his experience and programming history,

KSPQ Flips To Classic Rock

Ozark Area Network has flipped Variety Hits Q94 Jack-FM KSPQ West Plains MO
to Classic Rock Q94. The station will retain local morning host Gary Lee
from 5-10am and syndicated Nights with Alice Cooper with the change. The
flip is a return to the stations heritage as it was Classic Rock before
flipping to Jack-FM in 2006.

Station Sales Former Urban Kiss 101.7 WJKS Wilmington DE owner Tony
Quartarone is returning to radio as his Multimedia Communications is
purchasing CBS Sports 105.3 WJSJ Fernandina Beach/Jacksonville FL from Neal
Ardmans NIA Broadcasting for $1.3 million. Multimedia, held by Quartarone
and a group of Delaware based parters, has until August 1 to raise the
financing for the purchase. The Affiliated Media Trust, spinning off the
properties formerly held by the bankrupt Graham Newspapers sells a four
station cluster located halfway between Abilene and Dallas TX to the James
Moser led Palo Pinto Communications for $95,400. The buyer will also be
purchasing seven of Grahams newspapers for an undisclosed amount. The
stations involved in the deal are Country K-Lakes 93.5 KLXK Breckenridge,
Classic Rock Q94.7 KWKQ Graham, Classic Country 1330 KSWA Graham, and AC
1430 KROO Breckenridge. Alton Tipps acquires Full Service 1340 WCDT/106.9
W295AV Winchester TN from Betty Yarboroughs Franklin County Radio
