I'm active in a short wave listener group, which would like to restart the
short wave service of the Deutsche Welle as a information source of Germany
.. In former times there was an German (and English) service on short wave t
hat could be heard all over the world. But due to a politically triggered r
eorganisation of the DW the focus of the DW was shifted to a TV and web bas
ed service like CNN, Russia Today, BBC, CRI etc. and the DW would like to p
lay in that league. This resulted in the shut down of the well known SW ser
vice of the DW - they stated that the number of listeners is declining shar
ply and the is no need for DXers.

We would like to know, who would be interested in a restart of the DW SW se
rvice and who is missing this original Deutsche Welle.

I would be very pleased, if DXing will prevail in future as a possibility o
f understanding and information.
