Davis comes to Richmond from iHeartMedias Hartford/New Haven CT cluster where he programmed CHRs 95.7 Kiss-FM WKSS and KC 101 101.3 WKCI. He has also worked as SVP/Programming for the companys Myrtle Beach SC cluster where he also programmed Country Gator 107.9 WGTR-FM. In Richmond, Davis will oversee CHR Q94 94.5 WRVQ, Classic Rock 96.1 The Planet W241AP, AC Mix 98.1 WTVR-FM, Country Big 98.5 W253BI, Alternative XL 102 102.1 WRXL, Urban 106.5 The Beat WBTJ, Sports Fox Sports 910 WRNL, and News/Talk 1140 WRVA. He fills the spot vacated by AJs move to St. Louis for the same duties. iHeartMedia announced today that Zac Davis has been named Senior Vice President of Programming for the Richmond market, effective immediately. iHeartMedia Richmond has a strong cross-platform presence, massive consumer reach and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing radio station brands Q94, 96.1 The Planet, Mix 98.1, BIG 98.5, XL 102, 106.5 The Beat, FOX Sports 910 and News Radio 1140 – and produces legendary marquee events including XL102 BIG Field Day, the 36 Hours for Kids Radiothon and Miracle on Broad Street. Davis will work closely with program directors, on-air personalities and sales to oversee on-air, digital and music programming for the radio station brands and their local events. WXIS and its translator cover the southern half of the Tri-Cities market serving Bristol VA, Johnson City, and Kingsport TN. The flip leaves Bristol Broadcastings Electric 94.9 WAEZ Greeneville as the only CHR in the market. The stunting at WXIS comes a week after sister Classic Country 1420 The Legend WEMB Erwin flipped to Sports NBC Sports Tri-Cities. WEMB is carrying a local show from 12-2pm hosted by Marky Billson. |
