![]() 'Digital voices connecting the world!' A D-Star presentation at Bendigo. Bendigo Amateur Radio and Electronics Club invites the public to 'Digital voices connecting the world!', a D-Star presentation by Peter Willmott, VK3TQ, and Richard Hoskin, VK3JFK. Peter and Richard have been experimenting with D-Star since 2006. They will go through D-Star 101 - callsign routing, D-Star evolution and changes over the years in technology, sound quality and gateway systems. They will have VK3RWW, 70 cm and 23 cm Voice & Data repeater on show and working. Peterâ€(tm)s portable 50 watt Kenwood D-Star repeater will also be available, a 2 metre Digital Voice Access Point on a MacBook, and a “Throw in the Car” D-Star Repeater in a sandwich box. Over the last ten years D-Star has come a long way. You can check out the voice quality of the ID-5100 Mobile, and have a chat around the world using any of these devices. The evening commences at 7.30 pm, Friday January 20th at the BAREC club room, 20 Longlea Lane, Longlea. A gold coin donation would be appreciated. Tea, coffee and biscuits available.
