I typically toss most mailings received from the ARRL. They're either pleas for donations for this or that or a solicitation to purchase equipment insurance. A couple of days ago, I received a solicitation from the League for car insurance through MetLife. I was about to toss it when I remembered that my insurance was up for renewal in a few days. I telephoned MetLife today and was surprised that the company's quote for car insurance using the ARRL group discount, saved me over $300 per year on car insurance. Chalk one up for the ARRL. Dave K8MN Just check your statement next time carefully. I have had State Farm for over 20+ years. AIG said they could save me and sure enough Saved me over 300 dollars for the 6months on 2 cars and my motorcycle. But at renewal time it was 300 MORE than what I got at State Farm. Called AIG and they said it was just a normal rate raise. State Farm at least took me back like I never left. SO be careful about these low price lead ins. Also check your coverage. Scotty W7PSK |
