SC How about a USA version of the Canadian solution: 1) No change to license classes. 2) Tech requires Element 2 (Tech written) same as now. 3) General requires a Tech license plus Elements 1 and 3 (5 wpm code, General written). If Element 3 is passed with 85% or better correct, credit is given for Element 1. 4) Extra requires a General or Advanced plus Element 4 (Extra written). No new tests. No extra paperwork other than the VEs determining whether someone passed Element 3 with 74% or 85%. No reduction in requirements, just an alternate path. Why not? 73 de Jim, N2EY |
